YPN NEEDS YOUR MAGAZINES! 📚

CAR's YPN is hosting a Vision Board party in January.  This fun and motivating event will be a great kickoff to the year!

For a successful Vision Board party, we need magazines.  Lots and lots of magazines!  The next time you're cleaning off a bookshelf or a pile of unread magazines, please consider throwing them into your car and bringing them up here to the CAR office.

If you get a little crazy and host a collection at your office, we will be happy to come and pick them up from you!

What is a Vision Board?

LEGAL & ETHICS

HOTLINE Q&A

Republished from TN Realtors®

The Digest: 12/19/2022

Licensees Holding Open Houses for Another Agent

Q: If an agent at one brokerage has a listing, can a different agent at another brokerage hold an open house? If so, what are the guidelines for that?

A: This is not recommended for several reasons. If a licensee has open houses for other firms, he is likely violating several provisions of the Broker’s Act. First, it likely constitutes misrepresentation since that licensee does not work for that agency. Second, the licensee does not represent that seller; by holding the open house, it appears to the public that the licensee on property is the listing agent. Third, this may violate the licensee’s independent contractor’s agreement with the agent’s firm or against company policy. Fourth and finally, that licensee will be taking on liability, which is not advisable.
