NOMINATIONS FOR 2024 BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The Nominating Committee for the 2024 Board of Directors will begin accepting applications to run on June 15.  The application and nomination period will remain open until July 17.

Seats open for election this year:

President-elect 
(will serve as President in 2025)

Director 
(2 seats will be open for 2-year terms)

To review the qualifications to run, please see the requirements beginning on page 6 of the Policy and Procedures manual.

The 2024 Nominating Committee consists of Sandra Hester, Randy Worcester, and Eric Boyd.  The Election Committee will be Kenneth Wotring, Monte Boyd, and Kara Bond.

CARES NEW SESSION- Beginning 7/31

CARES is back in session beginning JULY 31ST! Do you have friends or family that are interested in becoming a Realtor® with you? This may be the perfect opportunity for them to get started!

The Clarksville Area Real Estate School, as presented and managed by the Clarksville Association of REALTORS, will provide an effective foundation of real estate education in an organized classroom environment for those persons seeking to obtain a real estate license and for those that wish to expand their knowledge of the general real estate profession.

SOS DOWN PAYMENT ASSISTANCE

The CAR SOS Foundation has developed and funded a Down Payment Assistance Grant program available exclusively to clients of CAR members. Applications for this grant will be reviewed and awarded quarterly.

If you have a Buyer client that meets the requirements, please consider sending them the information and encouraging them to apply for one of the $1,000 grants.

IMPORTANT SECURITY ADDITION TO SENTRIKEY®

SentriLock is enabling an important security feature for the SentriKey® mobile app in late June. This change will provide a higher level of protection against unauthorized access to your lockboxes or mobile app. 

What does this mean for you? 

Beginning in late June, if users of the SentriKey® mobile app input an invalid PIN more than three times they will be temporarily locked out of their account for a few minutes. To avoid being locked out, after the third attempt, users will be directed to reset their PIN in the app or call SentriLock support for assistance.

What is a simple solution? 

To avoid invalid PIN lockouts, we recommend that users enable biometrics (Touch ID or Face ID) in the SentriKey® mobile app. For information on how to do this, please see our mobile phone guide. 

What if you have forgotten your PIN? 

A user can reset their PIN in the SentriKey® mobile app or on the SentriKey® website, using their security questions. If an agent has been locked out, SentriLock support will be able to assist in resetting the PIN.

Clarksville Association of Realtors® joins NAR to celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride Month and supports the equal rights of all people regardless of their gender identity and sexual orientation. 

LGBTQ+ REAL ESTATE ALLIANCE CERTIFIED ALLY- 6/29

The LFBTQ+ Real Estate Ally Certified Ally certification is designed for straight members of the real estate community who want to be more aware of the challenges and opportunities for LGBTQ+ buyers, sellers and real estate agents in the market, and to show support for our LGBTQ+ friends.  

This is normally a quarterly class, but they have an extra opportunity coming up on June 29 in support of Pride month!

The next Zoom opportunities after that are on September 7 and November 9.

Earnest Money Release

Q:  I was representing a seller on a listing.  The contract fell through, and the listing has expired.  My seller refuses to sign the earnest money release and will not take my calls.  The buyer’s agent is holding the earnest money.  How should we handle this situation?

A:  The buyer’s agent can make a reasonable interpretation of the contract or interplead the funds.
