HANDBAGS FOR HOPE INFORMATION

We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who joined us at Handbags for Hope, as well as those who engaged in the online bidding process. Our milestone 10th year surpassed all expectations, and we are eagerly anticipating the moment we can reveal the impressive results of our fundraising efforts to you!

During the occasion, we had the privilege of welcoming and honoring the four remarkable women who planned the inaugural Handbags for Hope event in 2014; Melissa Rivera, Kelly Foote, Lindsay Elliott, and Jennifer Warrick.

If you purchased a bag and did not pick it up after the event, we will have them ready at the CAR office this week. We will send everyone a message when they are ready! Please be patient, as we have several to sort.

Questions or feedback about the event can be sent to YPN@clarksvilleaor.com.

LEGAL & ETHICS

HOTLINE Q&A

Republished from TN Realtors®

The Digest: 8/28/2023

Designated Agents on a COA

Q: Can you clarify something? The explanation of terms for Working with a Real Estate Professional states that by law, an agent must be a facilitator if they DO NOT have a written contractual agreement with their buyer or seller, meaning either a listing agreement or a buyer’s rep agreement. Correct? That is how I read it. But most other brokers disagree with me and say agents should be designated agents on the COA and do not need a buyer’s rep agreement to be that. Can you tell me which is correct?

A:  You are not an agent unless an agency relationship has been created via a representation agreement.  Therefore, you cannot select “designated agent” on the COA without a representation agreement in place.
